Replacing PA-Only Emergency Communication Across a Pan-India Hospital Network
Existing limitations
Where the Previous Setup Fell Short
- Emergency announcements relied on the public-address system only, with no way to confirm who actually heard them
- No reporting existed for any past emergency activation — there was nothing to review after the fact
- The same coordination challenge had to be solved consistently across hospital locations nationwide, not just a single site
Winze assessment
What Winze Found
Across the network, PA announcements were the primary way emergencies were communicated — reliable for broadcast reach, but with no acknowledgement, no retry if staff missed the announcement, and no record of what happened afterward. This is a common gap at multi-site scale: PA alone can tell everyone something is wrong, but not who is responding.
Proposed architecture
The Solution Design
VConnect Alert was deployed as the emergency notification layer alongside the existing PA systems, using its multi-tenant and multi-branch support to give each hospital location its own responder groups and emergency codes under one centrally manageable platform.
Implementation
Rollout
Emergency codes were configured per hospital location, with responder groups mapped to each site so that an activation reaches the right people at that specific hospital, not the entire network indiscriminately.
Integration
Connected Systems
VConnect Alert integrates with each hospital's existing public-address system, so announcements continue to play over the same speakers staff already rely on — the platform adds coordinated calling and reporting on top, rather than replacing familiar equipment.
Training
Team Enablement
Hospital administration teams were enabled to trigger, confirm, and manage emergency codes directly, so activation doesn't depend on Winze involvement once the system is live.
Support
Ongoing Coverage
Winze provides ongoing support for the deployment across all hospital locations as part of the managed rollout.
Verified results
Outcomes
- Emergency activation and response reporting now available for the first time — previously nonexistent under the PA-only approach
- A consistent emergency notification approach now runs across hospital locations nationwide, in place of site-by-site PA announcements
